Stepping Into a New Year With Gratitude and Hope

As the year comes to a close, we find ourselves pausing to reflect — not only on the months behind us, but on the journey that brought Project Nic to this moment.

What began in 2012 with a single shelter in China has, by God’s grace, grown into seven shelters across six countries, caring for more than 250 children. For nearly 13 years, Project Nic has walked alongside children who arrived carrying stories of loss, hardship, and survival — meeting them with safety, steady care, and the assurance that they are no longer alone.

This past year brought its own share of challenges and quiet victories. Children arrived in our shelters seeking refuge. They were met with warm meals, consistent routines, clean clothes, medical care, and adults committed to walking with them for the long haul. Healing didn’t happen overnight, but it had room to begin.

Because of you, children were not left to face their hardest moments alone.
Because of you, stability replaced uncertainty.
Because of you, hope found a place to grow.

As we step into 2026 — the fourteenth year of Project Nic’s work — our mission remains unchanged. We will continue providing safe shelter, consistent care, and long-term support for children who need it most. We will keep showing up, listening carefully, stewarding generously, and responding with compassion.

The turn of the calendar does not erase the needs we see — but it renews our commitment to meet them.

Thank you for being part of this story. Thank you for walking with us into a new year filled with purpose, gratitude, and hope.
