Who We Are

Project Nic is a Kansas City–based nonprofit that creates opportunities for people to live out the love and justice of Jesus by caring for orphaned and vulnerable children around the world. Our mission is simple and steadfast—to surround each child with the love, care, and support they deserve so they can learn, grow, and thrive exactly where they are.

The children we serve come from difficult and diverse backgrounds, including the effects of war, poverty, HIV/AIDS, and exploitation. Through the compassion of our supporters, we meet both their physical and spiritual needs—reminding every child that they are deeply valued and loved by God.

Our Story

Project Nic began on April 8, 2012, when we opened our first shelter in China with just ten children. By God’s grace, that single home of hope has grown into seven shelters across six countries, caring for more than 250 children and continuing to expand. In every home, children receive food, clothing, shelter, education, medical care, and the life-changing message of God’s love.

China: 22 children
Myanmar: two shelters (one with 115 children; one with 30)
India: 49 children
Nepal: 16 children
Taiwan: 36 children
Thailand: 1 shelter

Each home is a place of safety and belonging—rooted in love and grounded in faith.

How You Can Help

With more than 250 children currently in our care and more waiting for support, we invite you to join us in this mission of love. The cost to support one child is just $468 per year (or $39 per month), covering food, shelter, education, medical care, and daily spiritual guidance. Even more remarkably, for each child sponsored through Project Nic, Orphan’s Hope World Mission will match your donation to support another child—doubling the impact of your gift.
