July Update from Project Nic

We hope this blog update finds you doing well. We wanted to make a quick post about what the Project Nic team has been up to recently and keep you informed on upcoming events.

Bailey, Director of Project Nic, has been working on trauma informed care training through an organization called Trauma Free World.  Trauma impacts the lives of children and adults all over the world, and is especially prevalent in the orphans we care for. It is our goal to learn how we can better impact the lives of the children that we are caring for. This training will help us achieve that goal by helping us understanding trauma and how it affects the brain so we know how to better help and serve the children that have experienced trauma.

Make sure you mark your calendars for our annual Run for Shelter event! The 2022 Run for Shelter 5K, 10K, and NO-K is coming up September 17th and registration will be published soon. Keep an eye out on our website and social media for that. We are always looking for more business sponsors to help us put on these types of events, so if you are a business and want to get involved, let us know!

Lastly, we are working to connect and partner with other churches in our area to help us continue to care for more orphans across the globe. If you think your church would be interested in working with Project Nic, we would love to get to know you!
